Wow – there are now just under 120 people registered for this event now, our accommodation at Nikau Apartments is full and we are overflowing into the Prince Albert pub and backpackers just down the road. The Prince Albert is a great wee pub, friendly staff and locals with the accommodation quite separate from the pub. The pub is holding rooms free for us until the end of September, after then we cannot guarantee a bed here.
So far we have 14 people registered from the USA, 12 from the UK and 10 from Australia
To give you an idea of what we have in mind on Tuesday there will dancing around Nelson, Wednesday at Mapua Wharf, Thursday around Nelson (brewery at McCashins, Wearable Arts, Honest Lawyer) Friday out of Nelson (Richmond and Moutere), Saturday Nelson CBD. and Sunday. TBA
The Ale will be on the Saturday night and there will be a celidih on the Thursday night with Wednesday and Friday evening probably be jam sessions or free time in the local pubs. Theme for the ceilidh will be ‘Maritime Madness’ to fit in with the nautical nature of the name of Nelson and our role as the largest fishing port in Australasia. At this moment our intention is to provide breakfasts and most of the evening meals and transport on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Let us know if you want to extend your stay in Nelson and to give you a taste of what’s here have a look at the promo video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9ITt88BiAY
